The Crookston Community Pool is closed until further notice.

The Eat United Food program will run today through July 27 on Mondays through Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ray Ecklund Park Complex at the Lion�s Shelter by the hut. All children 18 and younger can get a free meal, and adults 19 years or older can purchase a meal for $5. Children must be present in order to receive a meal (one per child.) Meals must be consumed on-site. There will be to-go meals this year.

Crookston Home Delivered meals this week is being delivered by the Benedictine Living Community.

Golden Link activities for Tuesday: Entertainment Committee meets at 1:00 p.m., Pinochle at 1:00 p.m., and Grant Committee meets at 2:00�

The Fisher American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Golden Link activities for Wednesday are Men's cards at 8:00 a.m., Board Meeting at 9:00 a.m., Cribbage at 10:00 a.m., and Bridge at 12:30 p.m.

The Crookston Public Library will have a children�s concert by Grammy-nominated artist Ralph's World on Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Crookston American Legion will meet on Wednesday, June 7, at 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Link.

The Fisher American Legion will have burger night Wednesday.

RiverView Health Auxiliary is set to host a Collective Goods Sale, previously known as the Books Are Fun sale. Items include books, electronics, home goods, linens and blankets, kids gifts, and more. The event is on Thursday from 8:00-5:00 and Friday, June 9, from 8:00-3:00 in RiverView�s Conference Rooms, 1-3. A portion of the proceeds will go towards hospital and clinic projects to enhance patient care.

Golden Link activities for Thursday are Foot Care at 8:30 and 12:00 noon, Smear at 1:00 p.m., SAIL Exercise Class at 2:30, and an evening meal at 5:30 p.m.

The Crookston Public Library will have storytime on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.

The Crookston Eagles will NOT have bingo on Thursday night.

The Crookston DAV will meet on Thursday, June 8, at 6:00 p.m. at the Golden Link.

The Crookston Eagles will have Bar Bingo on Friday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. with a $500 must-go Jackpot.

Lutheran Social Service Meals, with support from DSAAA and United Way, will distribute meals to individuals 60 plus on Monday, June 12, at 9:00 AM at Golden Link in Crookston. Recipients will receive a bundle of 10 meals, first come, first served. To register, contact Wendy Jerry at 218-773-3017.

Everyone is invited to a Retirement Open House for David Aamoth, who is retiring from Edward Jones. It will be Tuesday, June 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Irishman�s Shanty at 1501 South Main in Crookston. Appetizers and refreshments will be served.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 1902 Crookston will have their regular meeting at the Golden Link Senior Center on Tuesday, June 13, at 6:00 p.m.

The Fisher American Legion will have its Legion and SAL meeting at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13.

Join award-winning cartoonist Rick Stromoski by live stream at the Crookston Public Library Wednesday, June 14, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Crookston Public Library will have Storytime on Thursday, June 15, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. and an outdoor concert featuring the Dan Brekke Trio from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The 2023 United Golf Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 22, at the Minakwa Golf Course. It�s an 18 Hole Scramble with four-person teams. Registration is at 8:00 a.m., shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. To pre-register, send team and player names and checks payable to United Way of Crookston, P.O. Box 218, Crookston, MN. 56716. Registration includes donuts, coffee, juice, lunch, and green fees. Carts are not included, call to reserve at 218-281-1774.

The Grand Theatre will have a Classic Family Matinee and Video Club gaming every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Admission is free with a concession purchase or pay just $1.

CONTINUING ANNOUNCEMENTS

Highland School is currently looking for donations of new or gently used winter gloves. Please drop off any donations at the Highland School Office if you are interested in donating.

The Crookston Care & Share is now accepting donations of Women�s, Men�s, and children�s coats and jackets, jeans, sweatshirts, long sleeve t-shirts, and winter gear, as well as toiletries and other common items. Donations may be dropped off at the Care and Share Center at 220 East Third Street.

The�Prairie�Skyline�Foundation is looking for new members. For those interested in joining, you can contact Kay Hegge at 218-289-1246.

Second booster doses of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines are now available at Altru Clinic in Crookston for people 50 and older and those 12 and older who are immunocompromised. The second booster dose must be administered at least four months after the first booster. Adults who received Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) for their primary vaccine and booster dose at least four months ago may now receive a second booster dose of Pfizer or Moderna only. The Crookston License Center is now offering the Class D written test for permits, new-to-state residents, and MN reinstatements. The test is available by appointment for a fee of $10.00. If you want to schedule an appointment, please call 218.281.5423 or email [email protected] .

The Crookston Public Library�s Books & Brews Book Club meet on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 6:30 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their own food and drinks. All are welcome.�

The Crookston Friends of the Library meet on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

The Crookston Library Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:15 p.m.�

The Cove Youth Center in Crookston is open Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.�Students and parents should call ahead to check the availability of the youth center at 218-470-0149.�

Polk County Public Health is available to answer questions about COVID-19 and help obtain essential services such as groceries, medications, and other daily items at 281-3385.� The phone is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. � 4:30 p.m.
