A few months after I found out that I was pregnant, I started to research all of the different items that I’d need as a first-time mom. I asked mom friends for recommendations, put together a list, and headed to a few local stores. After spending a month shopping, I found myself overwhelmed and defeated by the entire process.

For every item that I needed to purchase, there were so many different options to choose from and each option seemed to have mixed reviews.

Since the stroller was not only a big-ticket item, but also something we’d use multiple times a day, I knew that I needed to be extra hands on to make the right decision. I went to a handful of stores and test drove a bunch of popular strollers in order to find the right one for my family. Read on to see what I picked!

We ended up deciding on the UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller and after using it for two months, I don't have any buyers remorse at all. Here are the five reasons why I picked this stroller and am very happy that I did.

BUY IT: Amazon, $1,319.00

One of the first things I noticed about this stroller was how well made it was. Other strollers that I pushed around felt like the wheels would pop or the frame would crack after a few months of using it around New York City. But when I tried out the UPPAbaby Vista V2, I noticed that the bigger wheels seemed durable enough to withstand everything, from uneven sidewalks to walks around Central Park.

Even though it felt heavier to lift than any other stroller, it was easy to maneuver and push. It has all-wheel suspension and even when we ride over bumps, rocks, or cracks in the road, the baby doesn't wake up or feel anything.

The stroller retails for close to $1,000, making it one of the pricier options. But a big selling point that added to our decision to go with the UPPAbaby V2 was that it comes with a bassinet and a full-size toddler seat. Other strollers that were at a similar price point, or even more expensive, didn't include a bassinet.

We liked that this stroller could be used for so many years, from the newborn to toddler stage, without having to purchase any upgrades or get a new stroller.

While we don't know what our family will look like in the future, if we do decide to have more kids, we can continue to use this exact stroller. A unique feature of the UPPAbaby V2 is that you can add on more seats or expansion features, like a ride-along board, to the frame to accommodate up to three children.

This also helped us justify the higher price point since we looked at this stroller as a potential long-term investment.

Since we live in such a small apartment, we don't have any dedicated space for the stroller when it's not in use. Everytime we come home, we have to break down the stroller and store it in the closet. So, I wanted a stroller that was durable and easy to fold up.

While some strollers can fold up with just one hand — and in seconds — this one does take both hands and a little bit longer. But after you learn how to do it, it's easy and it stores nicely in our entryway closet or in the trunk.

During the first couple of outings with my newborn, I realized how much stuff we have to bring with us everywhere we go. I love the basket that fits underneath the seat of this stroller. It's extra large, easy to access, and holds up to 30 pounds of stuff.

It comes in handy to store the diaper bag and even groceries when we swing by the store with the baby.
