Pennridge area crime briefs for weeks of May 22 and 29

ASSAULT — On May 22, Pennridge police responded to the 1200 block of Whaland

ASSAULT — On May 22, Pennridge police responded to the 1200 block of Whaland Road following a report of a physical fight between brothers. Upon the officers’ arrival, both brothers reported there was no physical altercation and one of the brothers was leaving. No further action was taken.

WANTED SUBJECT — On May 22, a male inmate from Bucks County Prison who walked away from the work release program was spotted near the East Rockhill Township building and transported back to the prison by Pennridge police.

BRANDISHING A WEAPON — On May 22, Pennridge police were dispatched to the 200 block of Ridge Valley Road following a report of a neighbor armed with a rifle. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the neighbor was armed with a BB gun that looked like a rifle. Officers determined that nothing of a criminal nature had taken place, and no further action was taken.

THEFT — On May 23, Pennridge police responded to the 200 block of Cathill Road following a report of several catalytic converters being stolen from business vehicles. Upon arrival, officers found that three of the trucks had their catalytic converters removed overnight. The theft reportedly amounts to over $1,500.

VAPE POSSESSION — On May 23, Pennridge police responded to Pennridge High School in East Rockhill following a report of a student in possession of a vape smoking device. A juvenile allegation was filed.

HARASSMENT — On May 24, Pennridge police responded to the 600 block of Roseann Road following a report of female being harassed via social media. The officers found that the harassment stemmed from an earlier criminal investigation and that the social media page was deleted and closed by the victim.

THEFT — On May 24, Pennridge police responded to Pennridge High School following a report of a theft of Apple Air pods. The air pods were estimated to cost $200. After a brief investigation, the air pods were returned to the owner with no charges filed.

TRESPASSING — On May 25, Pennridge police were dispatched to the 600 block of Roseann Lane following a report of news reporters trespassing on a property. No charges were filed, as the reporters left the property upon request.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On May 25, Pennridge police responded to the 3100 block of Quarry Road for criminal mischief to property after a hole was cut in the fencing surrounding the lot. The estimated cost of the damages is between $100 to $200.

CREDIT CARD FRAUD — On May 25, Pennridge police were advised of resident whose credit card account was used fraudulently in Chicago. No further information was available, and the incidents are currently being investigated by the credit card company.

ROAD RAGE — On May 26, Pennridge police responded to the area of the Naceville Quarry on Ridge Road following a report of road rage. Upon arrival, officers found two motorists arguing after one of the motorists pulled out in front of the other one. No further information was available, and the officers left the scene.

VAPE POSSESSION — On May 26, Pennridge police responded to Pennridge High School following a report of a student in possession of a THC vape smoking device. A juvenile allegation was filed.

IMPROPER FIREARM USAGE — On May 27, Pennridge police responded to the 2100 block of Ridge Road following a report of a resident target shooting at his home without a proper back stop. The investigating officer determined that there was in fact an inadequate backstop, and the homeowner was advised of the proper precautions to be taken.

BURNING TRASH — On May 27, Pennridge police investigated a complaint of a resident burning trash in the 2100 block of N. Rockhill Road. The investigation determined that the fire had been extinguished earlier in the day, and there was no remaining evidence of the burned materials.

PUBLIC DISTURBANCE — On May 29, Pennridge police responded to the 500 block of Campus Drive following a report of neighbors arguing over the installation of a fence. Both parties were referred to East Rockhill Township staff for guidance about fence installation.

SETTING OFF FIREWORKS — On May 29, Pennridge police responded to Bryant Drive and Campus Drive following a report of a homeowner setting off fireworks. This complaint was deemed unfounded.

SETTING OFF FIREWORKS — On May 29, Pennridge police responded to the 2000 block of Ridge Road following a report of a small brush fire purportedly ignited by a firework. Officers were assisted by the Perkasie Fire Company.

FRAUD — On May 30, Pennridge police responded to T&A Bindery for a report of another company using the business's US DOT business to conduct business.

ANIMAL NEGLECT — On May 30, Pennridge police and the Bucks County SPCA removed several animals from a home in the 600 block of Roseann Lane due to significant neglect. The incident is being investigated by the Bucks County SPCA.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE — On May 30, Pennridge police responded to the 1300 block of Tunnel Road following a report of a verbal argument between family members. The family members were separated for the evening.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — On May 31, Pennridge police responded to the 100 block of Detweiler Road following a report of criminal mischief to a vehicle. Investigating officers found that two vehicles were damaged with a BB gun overnight, causing over $1,200 in damages. No suspects are known at this time.

DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE — On May 31, Pennridge police responded to the 3200 block of Meetinghouse Road for a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found a male and female engaged in a verbal argument. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

THEFT — On June 1, Pennridge police responded to the 1100 block of Allentown Road following a report of a theft. The victim reported that a male driver of a white pick-up truck stole his trash can from his property. The value of the trash can is believed to be $75, and the owner was referred to his trash company for a replacement.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On June 1, Pennridge police responded to the parking lot of Glenwood Shopping center following a report of a male making odd comments to patrons about curing cancer and being a billionaire. Officers were unable to locate the male upon arrival.
